From our San Francisco office, we serve clients across the country. Most clients are assigned an account team that includes a member of senior management, a senior account executive, and an account executive. Other staff, including our production/design department and our marketing/advertising department work with you as needed.
Nick Allen is founder and CEO of Donordigital.
Nick was co-editor of the first book on online fundraising, Fundraising on the Internet (first edition, 1996; second edition, 2001, Jossey-Bass) and leads workshops for the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the International Fundraising Conference in the Netherlands.
Nick has 25 years of experience in building nonprofit organizations, raising money, organizing, and media and public relations. He founded Donordigital when he was director of creative and consulting services at Mal Warwick & Associates, the direct mail firm. He has worked as executive director (and founder) of Neighbor to Neighbor, and Washington director of the Fenton Communications public interest PR firm. In the early 1990s, he spent three years based in Prague, training environmental activists across Central and Eastern Europe.
Nick is the father of Alexandra and Jacob.

Mwosi has worked in direct response fundraising for the past 15 years. She began her career at Mal Warwick Associates, where she managed the direct mail and telemarketing programs for some of the nation’s most respected environmental, advocacy and political organizations including the Union of Concerned Scientists, PETA and Ocean Conservancy, to name a few. Mwosi’s work in building long-lasting relationships with individual donors through effective direct marketing techniques and precise list segmentation has motivated hundreds of thousands of people to give millions of dollars to worthy causes nationally and around the world.
As the managing director for the firm, Mwosi oversees all of the work with our clients. She provides strategic guidance on integrating fundraising efforts across direct mail, online, and telemarketing channels.
Michael Stein is a veteran nonprofit technology strategist who has worked for the past twenty years at the intersection of communications, social media and fundraising. His areas of expertise include online fundraising, email messaging, email list growth, blogging, website content, online video, mobile messaging, Google Analytics, Facebook and Twitter.
With Nick Allen and Mal Warwick, Michael wrote the groundbreaking 1997 book “Fundraising on the Internet: Recruiting and Renewing Donors Online.” As a consultant to Donordigital and to Mal Warwick Associates, Michael has led online engagements for a variety of clients including Catholic Relief Services and Appalachian Mountain Club.
Michael has provided strategic consulting to numerous organizations including: The William J. Clinton Foundation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Chez Panisse Foundation, United Nations Food Program, The James Irvine Foundation, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Ploughshares Fund, American Lung Association of California, and the ACLU of Northern California. He is also a former staffer at Convio.
Michael’s opinion and analysis have been featured in numerous media, including The New York Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, National Public Radio, and Wired News.
Michael currently serves on the Advisory Board of Idealware.org, which rates software for nonprofit organizations and on the Board of Directors of UpStart Bay Area, an organization that inspires and advances innovative ideas that contribute to the continued growth and vitality of Jewish life.
Michael is an avid longboard surfer and sea kayaker and calls Pacifica State Beach and the Berkeley Marina his local breaks. He grew up in France, England and Denmark, and now resides in Berkeley with his wife and two children.
Before joining Donordigital, Vera wrote grants, primarily for the advancement of urban youth development and outdoor education, as the Assistant Manager of Donor Services for the YMCA of the East Bay, an Association serving 32,000 members across Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Vera gained client management experience as an account executive at Anthem Worldwide, a strategic design agency, working on branding projects with clients such as Microsoft, LifeScan, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Safeway, Sports Authority and Seagate. A lifelong volunteer with groups such as the American Cancer Society and Future Women Leaders, Vera began her career in fundraising at San Francisco Opera, where she was Membership Manager and Development Operations Associate, recruiting, retaining and renewing a membership of 10,000 through direct mail, telefundraising and database management.
Vera graduated with a degree in Psychology from University of California at Davis and a Master's in Integrated Marketing Communications from Golden Gate University.
Prior to joining the Donordigital team, Matt worked in politics, polling, and issue-based organizing. Moving to San Francisco after organizing for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, he gained experience in political polling and strategy at the Democratic polling firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research. Matt returned to his native Iowa to make history with Lambda Legal and One Iowa, planning and implementing community education and advocacy actions needed to win and then protect the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. An experienced Twitter and Facebook campaigner, he expanded One Iowa’s new media constituency and generated grassroots action online and in person.
Matt is a new media junky, a committed progressive activist, and a proud uncle to Dexter and Eleanora. He graduated with a degree in Spanish from Iowa State University.
Gentry works on mobile and advertising for clients such as The Humane Society of the United States and NARAL Pro-Choice America. After getting a degree in journalism at New York University, she worked for 5 years in Manhattan in publishing and in public relations for Gap, Inc. Tired of the rat race, she decided to return to the blissful idyll that is San Francisco, and worked for a small high-tech company before joining Donordigital.
Adam came to Donordigital from the political world, after managing the Web site of the 2008 Democratic National Convention and working on the internet side of various campaigns. He's been working for nonprofits and progressive causes since he began making Web sites. He spends his time at Donordigital designing e-mails, sites, mini-sites, widgets, and whatever other projects he can get his hands on. He likes tight deadlines, design that works, and online experiences that are clean, simple, and intuitive.
A California native, Fran received her Master's in Social Work with a focus in social development from San Francisco State University after graduating with a degree in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz. She came to Donordigital after five years as a program specialist at the Family Violence Prevention Fund, where she organized to improve the health care response to intimate partner violence at the national level. At Donordigital, Fran works with The Humane Society of the United States.
Patton joined Donordigital after six years of campaign management and political consulting for Democratic candidates, progressive advocacy groups and labor unions. He has a background in field, communications, fundraising and strategy, with clients ranging from state and local candidates to national organizations like the DNC, MoveOn.org and SEIU. Most recently, Patton served as Senior Strategist at Compass Media Group—a Chicago-based media consulting and crisis communications firm—during a strong and successful 2008 election cycle.
Patton is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in Anthropology.
Nick joined DonorDigital after graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Art Practice and an obsession with "New Media". He spends his time developing and constructing websites, widgets, email messages, and newsletters. Always ready to learn something new, Nick works hard to use the latest web-related technologies to build custom solutions for our clients.
Daniel works with Donordigital clients to increase website traffic and online donations through search engine optimization and paid-search campaigns. Over the past 10 years, Daniel has worked for a number of Internet startups where he lead research and marketing engagements for some of the Internet's top websites and Fortune 500 companies, such as Intel, The Gap, the IMDb, and Lycos. Daniel is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and he received his M.A. from UCLA.
Dawn has worked with Donordigital clients since 2007 to increase their online revenues through the incorporation of web usability best practices and landing page testing. She has deep knowledge of web analytics, including data collection, analysis and modeling, and strong experience with multivariate and A/B testing techniques. She currently leads testing projects with National Public Radio, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, CARE and the Union of Concerned Scientists. Dawn speaks regularly about testing and optimization at industry conferences and webinars, and publishes papers highlighting what’s working and not working with our testing clients.Prior to her work with Donordigital, Dawn was a Senior Consultant at Common Knowledge and spent six years in investment banking as an equity analyst. She received her B.A. from Johns Hopkins and her M.A. from George Washington University.
